Every region of the globe is producing and using exponential amounts of data. This means that data centers are processing more data, which leads to increased demand for data center capacity. Data centers are one of the largest industries worldwide that consume the most electricity.

High heat levels are vital for the health of data centers as they naturally result in large heat outputs due to high energy loads. It is, therefore, essential that heat is managed properly. Heat can negatively affect performance, increase downtime and even cause physical damage to servers if it isn't properly managed.

These are the top most of Data Center Cooling Systems, widely used across world.

Air Conditioning In The Computer Room

These systems, also known as CRACs, use conventional air conditioning methods. The air is pulled through a cooling system loaded with refrigerant to lower temperatures. These systems are often chosen due to their lower prices, even though they use a lot of electricity.

Systems For Cold Aisle & Hot Aisle

As a heat control measure, data centers arrange server racks with hot and cool aisles in alternating rows. This simple approach has proven to be very successful. A cold aisle draws in air from its entrance, transforms it into cold air, and circulates it through the racks. A hot aisle blows hot air from behind server racks. They are usually organized in a way that alternates between cold and hot lanes. This allows hot air to be expelled from the hot aisles to become cold air. It is then converted into cold air, which maintains a constant temperature throughout the data center.

Condensation Free

This cooling method uses cool air from outside rather than creating cold air inside the data center. This cooling method is efficient and can help you save significant money. This is why most data centers worldwide are located in regions with lower average temperatures.

Cooling Via Evaporation

This cooling method uses warm air from the data center to circulate through a system that exposes the air to water. The air then evaporates. The air loses heat due to this change in the water's condition. Now the problem is how to get rid of the moisture. This is usually done by cooling towers that release moisture from the air outside the data center.

Now that we have discussed some current cooling methods, let's look ahead to the future.

The Use Of Water For Cooling

Submerging the piece of hardware in liquid absorbs heat. This is one way to cool. It is important to choose the right liquid. The case and hardware are designed to stop leaks after the fluid has taken in heat. The fluid evaporates first and then condenses.

Apply Cooling Directly To Chip

This cooling system uses tubes to transfer liquid coolant directly to a metal plate. The coolant is placed on the metal plate, which is placed above the motherboard. It absorbs heat from it. The heat is then transported to a cooling facility before being released into space.

All of these strategies are applicable, which signifies that we live in an exciting time for data centers and will see much innovation over the next few years. The kuul effect can help you ensure your cooling system is well-planned and up-to-date with the latest developments in data center cooling.
